We always love travelling up to the Sunshine Coast BC. It is such a beautiful, tranquil and special place. We love coming here for the environment, adventures, swimming and of course WEDDINGS!
Or in this case, a gorgeous bridal styled shoot with two of our most favourite Sunshine Coast wedding talents, Jennifer Picard Photography and Weddings by Sasha.
The inspiration for this shoot was the breathtaking simplicity of the stretching west coast and the calming surroundings of the pale blue sea and evergreen trees. Everything was about allowing the subtle details to shine, the long lines of the timeless Pure Magnolia gowns, the modern jewels by Sarah Mulder Jewelry and the minimal styling by Weddings by Sarah and the fresh bouquets she created.
For the hair and makeup we wanted the look to be really natural, flowing and soft. The skin was bright and glowing, with soft pinks and golds highlighting the eyes and cheeks. For the hair, we created soft waves and rustled curls and a long and loose mermaid braid with woven in curls. We love how the overall vibe of natural west coast beauty came through the amazing eye of Jennifer Picard Photography.
Big LOVE to our beautiful models Orianna & Rhea.
From woodland to the beach, this real couple took the shoot to a couple of locations to make the most of the wonderful settings. The magical jewel tones look stunning both against the lush forest and white-washed shoreline, and I love the bold blooms, colour pop candles and incredible headpiece. Just stunning! With thanks to Caroline Ross Photography for the images today, I know you are going to love this one. – From Laura at Boho Weddings

This is not the first time we have shared a wedding with the incredible PopUp Weddings, the awesome team who creates amazing elopement adventure ceremonies for their couples, with the collaboration of a small team of wedding professionals to facilitate and capture the special moment. This sweet couple chose one of their dreamy packages that include a helicopter ride up one of the gorgeous mountain ridges surrounding Vancouver for a private mountain top ceremony. But sometimes the weather refuses to cooperate and the team is forced to improvise. On this particular mid November day, the sky was so foggy, the helicopter had to land in this beautiful valley, which ended up being a perfect impromptu setting for their wedding ceremony.

There are so many different styles of updo’s to choose for your bridal hair but finding the perfect one for your wedding day can be easy if you have all your bases covered.
First, you need to decide on the overall style you want, do you picture the old Hollywood glamour or do you love the effortless bohemian vibe? Then, think about how you feel your best and most pretty? Is your hair up or down, loose or tight? Next, start looking for visual inspiration, we love Pinterest for that. Keep in mind the reality of your hair length, thickness and texture. Can you really achieve that volume/fullness alone or are hair extensions needed? A lot of the updo inspo photos show only the back view, so take time to search for looks from the front too, as this is arguably the most important angle. Armed with all this knowledge, you are ready for your hair styling trial. Your stylist will go over your inspiration photos and discuss what you love and don’t and what works best for you. You can try out a few different things to make sure you find the perfect look to suit your unique features. Your stylist will confirm if extensions are needed or offer other options tailored to you. The trial should leave you feeling amazing and confident that you have found your dream wedding hair style. For more inspiration check out our Gallery.

Tucked away along the Sunshine Coast BC lies Roberts Creek, home to the wonderfully tranquil Lorelee Lane Farm, the magnificence of country living and a perfect spot for a romantic destination wedding. The most magical feature on the property is the timeless rustic barn where the beautiful Keilani has just finished her wedding hair and makeup styling. We played up her features with hints of coral and peach, blended into a pretty rose gold on her eyes. For her hair, we went for long loose waves, for the super natural look to complement the dramatic makeup. Keilani wears a lovely & versatile headpiece/aka necklace from The Borrowed Collection. Her absolutely stunning gown is from the exceptionally stylish Union Bridal. The dreamy decor styling by the talented Sasha Taylor Weddings + Events, with pretty florals by Moss & Poppy. The amazing photos by the inspiring and wonderful Jennifer Picard Photography.

Caroline Ross Photography and Umbrella Events wanted to create a shoot that was fresh, pretty and romantic, inspired by the spring blossoms. Pantone’s colours of the year—rose quartz (pink) and serenity (blue)—made appearances throughout the shoot as well, on the cake, and in the outfits and décor.
Shot at VanDusen Botanical Garden, under a weeping Benishidare Sakura cherry blossom, the springtime shoot featured some of the region’s best vendors. Each brought their own expertise to the styled shoot, expertly produced by Cristie Rosling of Umbrella Events.
The five-tier cake from The Cake and the Giraffe was inspired by English country gardens and watercolour paintings. With hand-painted canvases and edible sugar flowers, the cake embodies edible art.
Each piece of jewellery by Blue Brocade Hair Pieces featured antique glass pearls, rhinestones, beads or vintage metal flowers from the 1920s to 1960s.
Save the Date Beauty used a light spring palate by INGLOT to give the model a fresh, doe-eyed look.
Quaint mismatched white tables with scalloped edges and rough wooden planked tabletops were a dreamy base for the crystal, pink and gold table design. If Alice in Wonderland were to host a garden wedding, this might be it.”

Looking back on this beautiful day captured by Ronnie Lee Hill Photography. We had so much fun doing the hair and makeup styling for Elyse and her bridesmaids on her wedding day. This lovely couple has come through so much together to create a sweet and loving family. We wish these two all the best in love and life.
Just because it’s a wedding, a super special event steeped in traditions and formalities, shouldn’t mean you have to do anything you don’t want to do. Especially if it doesn’t make you feel great. We have a lot of brides who come in to their trial thinking they ‘should’ get an up do for the big day. Some ladies feel compelled to wear it up based on traditions or pressure from their family, others think it’s more bridal looking, but they end up not feeling like themselves when everything is all put up.
On your special day, you want to feel amazing, you want to feel like an effortlessly glamourous bridal babe, but the same babe your fiancee knows, loves & recognizes coming down the isle. For your wedding look, our best advice is keep true to how you feel your most beautiful. Follow your instincts and wishes on how you want to look and don’t let others influence weigh too heavy. And if you wanna wear your hair down, then DO IT. We support you! And here are some gorgeous down style inspo:
We were so pleased to meet the ladies of Union Bridal. We had long been admiring(drooling over) the amazing collection of exquisite, modern and boho gowns they have composed and couldn’t wait to take a peek up close. Walking into their bright and sunny studio, we felt the waves of inspiration wash over us and meeting Emily was as wonderful as could be expected! We chatted about weddings, the beginning of Union Bridal and all the amazing designers they work with. We were in complete awe of the incredible detail and handwork of their gowns and will definitely be recommending all our Brides make an appointment at this dreamy studio. We left SO EXCITED for our upcoming creative shoot with Union Bridal, Jennifer Picard Photography & Sasha Taylor Weddings on the Sunshine Coast BC.
A beautiful visual tale of the Brock House Wedding Show through the eyes of the incredibly talented Maru Photography.
