We LOVE Halloween for getting creative and exploring crazy, beautiful and spoooooky ideas!! Since this year Kristy is outta town, galavanting with the love of her life on their honeymoon, I’ll play dress up with her digitally…
This past Sunday, October 18, 2o15 we showed at the glamourous 25th Anniversary Brock House Wedding Show. It was an absolutely gorgeous show this year, larger and more opulent that ever, with tons of amazing vendors. We were so pleased to share the fashion show stage with the wonderful ladies of Kathryn Bass Bridal. Our lovely makeup, hair and styling team arrived for the early call time as the sun was coming up. We were happy to share the backstage ‘salon’ with the talented ladies of Mink Makeup as they styled the models walking for Isabelle’s Bridal. As the models did the show run through, we had just enough time to set up our booth and prepare for all the beautiful brides who would be coming through the doors in less than an hour! We met tons of super sweet and excited brides-to-be, their trusty bridesmaids and lovely mamas. We were also so pleased to share the show with some truly exceptional companies, like the creative ladies at Wonderlust Photography, the charismatic Curious Oyster guys, the sparkly jewels of the Borrowed Collection and the dreamy Sunshine Coast BC retreat Rockwater Secret Cove Resort, just to name a few. We also can’t get over the extraordinary (dream)team behind Dreamgroup Productions, the masterminds of the Brock House Wedding Show, who were completely accommodating, friendly and on top of all of it! It was an unforgettable experience!
Thank you to everyone who made the show a total success!
1 On location or at the salon – First you need to decide if you want to have your styling done in your home or choice venue or if you prefer going to the salon on the day of. You may want the luxury have having your hair and makeup done at your choice location. This option offers no travel stress and the convenience of having your stylists come to you, armed with all the salon essentials. Or you may just love the salon setting and see that as the ultimate in pampering. We obviously love the first option as we are all about mobile hair and makeup!
2 Ask around, get referrals – Its true that referrals are our best form of advertisement but it is also a trusty way to find hidden gems your friends or colleagues have already sourced out and have experienced first hand.
3 Search and review – Check out the local stylists, wedding blogs and magazines. See whose work stands out to your most. Most companies offer free consultations, so take them up on it and see if you mix well in person. It is a super intimate and special part of the day so you want to be sure you have the right team to help enhance your natural beauty.
4 Book a trial – Once you have found a stylist you click with and whose work your love, book a trial styling. The trial will not only give you the opportunity to try out your dream look and get to know your stylists but to test that you have chosen the right look for yourself

Planning a destination wedding can be as exciting as it is overwhelming. Make your life easy by throwing these 5 must have items into your destination wedding travel bag.
1. Sunscreen
Sounds like a no brainer but finding a high quality, non harmful sunscreen on the road can be a challenge. Plan ahead and pick up Kiss My Face Sun Spray Lotion, not only is it easy to apply, it is water resistant and non nano. We also love this resource for checking how your favourite sunscreen measures up.
2. Waterproof Makeup
Absolutely essential for those teary moments or the hot summer heat. One of our favourites, for long lasting waterproof coverage is Makeup Forever Full Cover Concealer. There are shades to match any skin tone and it will totally keep you covered morning to night.
3. Anti Humidity Hair Spray
Keep those fly aways in place and combat any tropical humidity with Bamboo Smooth Anti-Humidity Hair Spray by Alterna Haircare. We love Alterna because all their products are FREE of Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates & other harsh or unnecessary additives.
4. Setting Spray
Keep your makeup in place without the ‘cakey’ look of too much powder. We love Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray. Mist on this weightless spray to control oil, deflect surface shine and help makeup stay put all day.
5. Hair Oil
All the sun, sand and sea can really take a toll on your hair. Keep it healthy, shiny and frizz free with our most favourite hair oil, Davines Oi/ Absolute Beautifying Potion.

Inspired by dreamy country days and the effortless romance of the expansive fields and farm. The budding summer field, alight with a touch of sparkle, set an enchanting scene for the clean modern lines of the incredibly stunning Truvelle Dresses. Save the Date Beauty’s hair and makeup styling is glowing elegance, rose gold and dusty pink tones with loose curls woven into classic up-dos. The glamourous jewels by Olivia Headpieces add the perfect finishing touch. While the gorgeous and fresh floral bouquets by the Flower Box complete the whole look impeccably. Captured by Ronnie Lee Hill Photography, this shoot is the perfect muse for anyone planning a lovely country wedding.
The incredible backdrop of the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre Library perfectly frames this majestic bridal shoot. The inspiration is posh refinement, clean lines and the grandeur of the impeccable historic architecture. Polished loose curls swept up into a faux bob showcase the delicate halter top of the gorgeously simplistic bridal gown, while simultaneously highlighting the vintage inspired floral headpiece. The makeup is all about glamourous fuchsias and rose gold, set off with a romantic smokey eye. The florals follow the fuchsia tones of the the makeup, incorporating the full range in this palette. A truly majestic union!

Sunlit surf and sand along the pebbly shores of Tower Beach. The styling is easy going summer beauty. Minimal makeup with peachy coral tones, playing to the slightly vintage styling of the second look with a pop of red lips. The hair is wind swept loose waves woven into romantic braids wrapped around the crown, adorned with wild flowers plucked from the lavish unruly floral bouquets. Bright blue skies overhead, the sand stretching languidly lined by the lush wall of greenery, make the perfect setting for this boho bridal beach themed shoot.
