We love destination weddings and one of our top fave areas is in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Getting married in Playa del Carmen? Tulum? Cancun? Or Cozumel? We are offering top bridal hair and makeup styling, on or off location, at unbeatable prices to suit your budget!
We don’t usually spend too much time blogging about our favourite hair and makeup products for that flawless wedding look. It’s not because we don’t have any, its just because we typically prefer to talk about our brides, our team or favourite vendors or our travel dreams.
As our super busy season begins to wind down, we wanted to give a special nod to some of our favourite products that carry us through all our weddings.

A major fave is the super powered setting spray Final Seal by Ben Nye. We always joke that it is hair spray for the face, but its really is just that. The perfect finish to any makeup look, a few sprays set the look in place, amp up the waterproof factor and keep the look flawless through all the crying, laughing, eating, dancing and kissing.
For that photo perfect finish we love Makeup Forever HD Foundations and the new Matte Velvet Line, depending on the level of coverage our ladies are after. We love Makeup Forever HD Foundations because they go on smooth and clean and really stay put. They are all waterproof and give a gorgeous hydrated and flawless look. We also love their flexibility in being easily applied by airbrush or manual technique.
For eye shadows, few perform like the solid shadows by MAC. The eye shadows don’t fall and make a mess while applying and they blend perfectly, plus they come in every colour any bride could want!
While we always have our kit stocked with Davines and Kevin Murphy, our go to product for getting that all night hold is Power Spray 8-10 hold hair spray by Joico. We love this hair spray because no matter how much you spray, you can always brush it out for a soft and flowing look that really sets the style in place. It never leaves the hair sticky or crunchy and as a little bonus it smells incredible.
For finishing off a look, we always reach for our favourite Oi Oil by Davines. A little goes along way with this wonder serum. We love the smooth and non greasy shine and this one smells amazing too. We pretty much recommend any of Davines products and routinely use their This is a Medium hair spray as well.
Give a few of these gems a try! We promise you will not be disappointed!
This summer has been incredible so far! Lots of super sweet brides, love, adventures, ocean swims and lakes, bicycle rides and runs in the woods. We love summer in Vancouver but spending half of our time on the special Sunshine Coast really lets us soak in the warm dreamy days and all the amazing adventures of fun at our door. This is really a post of about being thankful for the beyond beautiful land we call home and the opportunity to immerse oneself in the exquisite tranquility of nature by just taking a 40 minute ferry ride away from the city. Every time we drive off the ferry there is an instant calm and a huge breath of fresh air and the feeling of freedom. We love you Sunshine Coast BC.

Trillium Resort and Spa – Port Sydney, Muskoka ON
We have fallen completely in love with this beautiful cottage style venue. This serene 86 acre resort features 17 cottages and chalets for your family and friends to spend a memorable weekend celebrating the love between you and your partner! Our favourite part about Trillium is the Post-and-Beam Dining Room, featuring an antique bar, wooden beamed cathedral ceilings and a stone fireplace. The large arched windows offer stunning natural light and a picturesque view of Devine Lake. The dining room is often used for indoor ceremonies, with incredible staff to transform it into your dining reception area and later to a floor to dance the night away! Weddings are always beautiful but the backdrop of a breathtaking location can make the day that much more incredible, not to mention the photos! Of course Vancouver has a ton of amazing locations to say “I do” but these three destinations, just a jump skip out of town are extra special and totally worth the trip!
1- The Sunshine Coast
Dear to our hearts, the impeccable Sunshine Coast is easily our number one spot. From the quaint Bonniebrook Lodge in Gibsons, peacefully set along a strip of coastline comparable to some tropical beach to the rustic and homey style of Ruby Lake Resort cabins set on the warm and immaculately clear Ruby Lake. To the true meaning behind destination wedding at the beyond tranquil West Coast Wilderness Lodge perfectly tucked away into the serene bay in Egmont at the top of the Sunshine Coast Highway. This last gem is tied for top spot as our most favourite venue.

2- Galiano Island
Gorgeous Galiano Island, where I am actually writing this blog post from right now!! We came to know Galiano a few years ago when one of our sweet brides introduced us to the beyond beautiful Bodega Ridge (also tied for top favourite). Hidden up on the ‘quiet end’ of the island, sits this sprawling and picturesque venue. After many weddings on this dreamy Southern Gulf island, we have also fallen in love with the Spanish inspired Galiano Inn. Conveniently located right by the ferry and most shops/cafes, though once you enter their gates you are transported into the serenity of lush and pretty gardens and old world charm.

3- The Fraser Valley to Manning Park
If you don’t want to think about ferries, the Fraser Valley is super accessible from Vancouver. Rolling green hills and the incredible mountains are the amazing backdrop to this stunning area. Close enough to make a day trip but inviting enough to forget the city, this is really a majestic area. The crown jewel is the Fraser River Lodge. The old timey log cabins, elaborate aboriginal carvings, tons of activities and probably the best bridal suite ever, puts this gem among our top faves. If you really want your wedding off the beaten path and tucked away in nature feeling, Manning Park Resort could be the place for you. Located just beyond the Fraser Valley in E.C. Manning Provincial Park and nestled in the heart of the Cascade Mountains, Manning Park Resort is a ascetic and recreational paradise.
